Simon Hopkins

Under Simon’s leadership, East West focuses on ethical investment choices and bespoke solutions, leveraging partnerships with leading boutique asset managers and private banking counterparties. Simon also sits on the investment committee for Milltrust’s Climate Impact Asia Fund, an active equity impact fund that invests in leading Asian-listed companies making a positive impact against climate change, managed in collaboration with WWF-Singapore.

With a career rooted in senior roles at prominent financial institutions like S.G. Warburg, HSBC James Capel, and Nomura International, Simon’s early contributions to the industry were groundbreaking. In 1996, he founded Global Fund Analysis, one of the first dedicated investment research platforms. He also pioneered the European hedge fund space with Fortune Group, where he advised on over $7 billion in assets before successfully selling the business to Close Brothers Group PLC. In 2011, Simon established Milltrust International in Singapore, an award-winning investment firm built on the ethos of “Sustainable Prosperity,” focusing on transformative sectors including Emerging Markets, ESG-aligned agricultural investments, and Science & Technological Innovation.

A champion of innovation, Simon also founded the British Innovation Fund, supporting the UK’s leading universities in nurturing cutting-edge technologies. He is a valued member of the NUS Medicine International Council in Singapore, holds an Honours degree in Law from the University of Bristol, is fluent in French, and is a certified Non-Executive Director through the FT Diploma.
