It is clear that we live in a “dynamic” world where transforming changes are taking place at a faster speed than we have come to expect. In addition to the recent events in the Middle East and North Africa, the financial crisis of recent years around the globe underlined not only the enormous problems in the banking and finance sectors, but also other areas of global governance and international relations.
While financial markets and governments are preoccupied with saving economies, a potential major crisis in the global energy supplies and environmental dangers could be looming not in the far future. In this age of globalisation, politics, economics, climates, food security and energy security are intertwined.
Against these global changes, the Eurasia House founded by Dr. Armen Sarkissian was actively engaged in assessing and analysing such critical issues that challenged the Eurasia region in particular and the world in general.

Business Executive & Leadership Programmes
For 10 consecutive years, Eurasia House had organised, in cooperation with Executive Education at Cambridge University’s Judge Business School, an intensive Business Executive and Leadership programme for young professionals from the Eurasia Region. Participants from Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrkyzstan, Russian and Ukraine have taken part in the month-long study and training programme.
This successful project is part of Eurasia House’s ongoing efforts toward the education and training of new generation of business leaders and professionals in the Eurasia region.
Eurasia Annual Conferences
From 2001 to 2011 Eurasia House had organised an international Conference on geopolitics, economic developments and business opportunities in the Eurasia region at University of Cambridge. The conference brought together ministers from the region, government representatives, business leaders, corporate executives, academics, experts and scholars from scores of countries.
The conferences focused on the growing economic interests and opportunities in the wider Caspian/Eurasia region. In addition to energy issues a wide range of topics were discussed, including cybersecurity, nuclear waste management, IT sector, transportation, telecommunications, etc.

World Economic Forum

The President of Eurasia House in Eurasia Centre at Cambridge University, Armen Sarkissian, is a faculty member of the organisation and is a regular speaker at the annual gathering in Davos and other regional conferences. He is Chairman of the Global Energy Security Council and member of a host of WEF bodies dealing with geopolitical issues, global risks, energy and transition economies.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) is a Geneva-based foundation whose Annual Meeting of chief executives of the world’s richest companies, national political leaders and selected intellectuals and experts is held in Davos.
In 2010-2011, Eurasia House research focused on Energy and global energy policy development, through its work with World Economic Forum, the Euro-Atlantic Security Initiative and the East West Institute. A number of policy briefs were produced, including “Will a Global Energy Crisis be Next?” for discussion within World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Energy Security.
The research and reports prepared by Eurasia House are shared with policy makers, think tanks, business and industry representatives, sponsors and other interested parties.
Euro-Atlantic Security Initiative
Eurasia House President was a Commissioner of Euro-Atlantic Security Initiative (EASI, a new, high-level international commission whose unique goal is to lay the intellectual foundation for an inclusive EuroÂAtlantic security system for the twenty-first century. The Commission was made of high level European Russian and US former statesmen, specialists, academics and civic leaders. Armen Sarkissiaan was also the Chairman of two working groups on “NonÂTraditional Threats” and “Energy Security”.

Eurasian Media Forum

The Eurasian Media Forum was established in 2002 with the active support of Eurasia House. It is one of the most prominent international media initiatives in Eurasia aimed at defining the strategic role of Eurasia in world affairs, exploring a new approach to international relations, promoting equality of access to reliable public information throughout the area and encouraging the highest standards of journalism.
The Forum promoted East-West cooperation and understanding through dialogue between the media, the business community, politicians and academics. Leading statesmen, political and corporate figures, business executives, international media representatives and over 500 delegates from around the world gather in Almaty, Kazakhstan for this annual gathering.
