| Ángel Vilá Boix served as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Telefónica S.A. from 2017 to 2025, having joined the company in 1997 as Group Controller and risen through roles including CFO of Telefónica Internacional, Group Head of Corporate Development, and Chief Strategy and Finance Officer from 2015. Prior to Telefónica he worked at Citigroup, McKinsey & Co., Ferrovial and Planeta, and he holds an undergraduate degree from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He led landmark corporate transactions during his tenure, including deals involving O2, Brasilcel/Vivo, E-Plus, GVT and the Telefónica Germany IPO. |
