Kalyanam Shivkumar

Dr Shivkumar is a Distinguished Professor at UCLA, practicing as an interventional cardiac electrophysiologist with a career-long focus on the brain- body axis and neuroscience-inspired organ therapies. He has pioneered neuroscience-based therapies for heart disease and is now expanding its clinical use.

Former President of the International Society of Autonomic Neuroscience (ISAN) and pioneer of the “Internet of the Human Body” scientific framework. Has assembled and international network of experts to develop this highly promising area.

Elected member of the most prestigious medical honor societies, including the American Society of Clinical Investigation, the Association of American Physicians, and Association of University Cardiologists. Named an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), London. Appointments at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Oxford and Caltech reflecting global recognition of clinical and scientific excellence.

Serves as Editor-in-Chief of JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology, the premier journal in the field.
