| Dr Noubar Afeyan is Founder and CEO of Flagship Pioneering, a company he founded in 2000 that creates bioplatform companies to transform human health and sustainability, and Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of Moderna, the mRNA company he helped establish in 2010. Born in Beirut to Armenian parents, he completed his doctoral work in biochemical engineering at MIT and previously founded and led PerSeptive Biosystems, a bio-instrumentation company that grew to $100 million in annual revenue. He holds more than 100 patents, has co-founded more than 70 life science and technology start-ups, and was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2022. |
