| Peter Gabriel is a musician, songwriter and human rights activist best known as a founding member and original lead singer of Genesis before launching a prolific solo career. His album So and the single “Sledgehammer” became global hits, and he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame both as a member of Genesis and as a solo artist. Gabriel co-founded the WOMAD festival to champion world music and has long championed human rights causes through organizations including Witness and The Elders. |
